Ministerium & Food Bank Christmas Gift Program

Each year, the Thurmont Ministerium and Food Bank sponsor a program to purchase Christmas gifts for families in need. The recipients are folks who use the Thurmont Food but are not receiving gifts from another organization. Gifts are purchased for minor children and senior citizens. Buying gifts for other family members are at the discretion of the purchaser.

To sponsor a family this Christmas, use the application form found here. Fill it out and return it to Graceham Moravian Church by December 1. You can use email or regular mail to submit your application. Once approved, you will receive a list of individuals by age and gender. Purchase your gifts, wrap them, and return them to Graceham Moravian Church by December 7.

If you’d like to learn more about the program, please watch our video on YouTube.

Thank you for helping the Thurmont Ministerium and Food Bank share some joy with our neighbors this year. Peace.

Food Bank Needs for Thanksgiving, Christmas

The Thurmont Food Bank is witnessing an increase in the need for food. They are preparing bags for the holidays and need some side dishes. The items in greatest need right now are: cranberries/cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut. If you are able to help with this need, please drop off your donations to the Food Bank before Thanksgiving. Thank you from Pastor Sally Joyner-Giffin, the manager of the Food Bank, and from the Thurmont Ministerium.
